My Reading Drought is Over

I'm at the bookstore, purchasing two long awaited novels.

Where are you? What are you reading?

I'm at work; I just finished The Big Short by Michael Lewis and the second in the Pretty Little Liars series (coming to the ABC Family Channel this June!), and I'm about to start Patti Smith's memoir of her friendship with Robert Mapplethorpe, which I'm really excited about. Although now I'm adding your titles to my list; I love both those authors.

Visitors and other life circumstances (the type that cost money for things like new tires, argh) intervened and halted my writing for over a week. I jump-started myself by down-loading three romances late Wed. night after my visitors vamoosed, then I stayed up til 1 am reading Jillian Hunter's Devilish Pleasures of a Duke. Nice and fluffy and energizing, although it's been out a couple years. The other two are Julia Quinn's Dancing at Midnight (a re-read) and Defender by Catherine Mann, a military romance by a writer that I haven't yet read.

It's Memorial Day weekend! Download a military romance, free from the Seattle Public Library if you have a card! I'll suggest Unsung Hero by Suzanne Brockmann if you haven't read it, or the classic Prince Joe (imagine a Navy SEAL with hair extensions).

I just reread all of the Hathaway books, including the new one! It was so delightful. Now I can't wait for the Beatrix story.

I'm looking forward to both the Kleypas and Quinn books! Two of my faves.
