I think I was too ambitious this week and our usual readers are a bit wary of the scope of my posts, but I'd love to have new people check us out.Anna Richlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06758472429790528680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14733381.post-9581611640129711212009-08-27T11:16:42.943-07:002009-08-27T11:16:42.943-07:00I'm suspicious, without reviewing my post, tha...I'm suspicious, without reviewing my post, that I used both dialog and dialogue. Oops. I have no idea which is correct, but I did spell check my post in blogger, so whatever I did isn't officially wrong. I think both are probably fine but I have no idea why I think that.

The scene I'm revising today is a modern day "Ting", a council of the good guys among my immortal Viking warriors to discuss fighting the bad guy together. I have seven guys and my heroine at a table - lots of tags and beats to keep each person straight, believe me. I even had to use a separate piece of paper listing each man, his identifying characteristic, and what his assignment has to be at the end of the meeting. A dialog/ue traffic jam.Anna Richlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06758472429790528680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14733381.post-13357549538406622932009-08-27T10:32:16.947-07:002009-08-27T10:32:16.947-07:00I love Elizabeth Hoyt, too!
Nerdy English teacher...I love Elizabeth Hoyt, too!

Nerdy English teacher question: why do some people write "dialog" and others write "dialogue"? Does it matter which one you use?Kate Diamondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00987438202240646062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14733381.post-44244972965430329212009-08-27T10:00:23.109-07:002009-08-27T10:00:23.109-07:00Anna, I'm loving your dialogue development--fa...Anna, I'm loving your dialogue development--fascinating stuff and incredibly insightful :-).

I'm also thrilled to be included in any mention of Elizabeth Hoyt--I'm a HUGE fan of hers (insert fan squeeeal here)!

Thanks for the review of tags and beats. I'll keep your points in mind this evening during my brief presentation on dialogue at the local library :-).Terry McLaughlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08557335434947611768noreply@blogger.com
